St. Andrew's United Methodist Church to Host Vacation Bible School

Sign up now for "Inside Out and Upside Down on Main Street"

Summer is on the way and many parents are searching for ways to keep their children entertained, stimulated and busy.

Vacation Bible School has become an American tradition for many families and St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 3315 Bryan Road, Brandon, will offer the traditional weeklong morning program aimed at  reaching  those who already attend the church as well as those in the community.

"Inside Out and Upside Down on Main Street" is the theme for this year's Vacation Bible School to be held on the St. Andrew's campus June 20-24. Openings are still available for children ages 3 (as of Sept. 1, 2010) to fifth grade.

"On Main Street," kids will explore stories Jesus told about everyday people in everyday situations. But his stories took radical twists that challenged people to look at themselves and others in new and unexpected ways. Kids will be challenged to retell Jesus' stories as they make gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, grace and faithfulness a part of their everyday lives. Main Street promises to give kids an inside-out, upside down experience like no other...and let Jesus make a difference in their lives.

Early-bird registration (before April 30) is $20 per child with a maximum per family of $40. Beginning May 1 the price increases to $25 per child with a maximum per family of $50. Family members of an enrolled child who volunteer their time with VBS waive the cost of the first child and receive a 50 percent discount for subsequent children with a family maximum of $50. Scholarships are available.

Vacation Bible School traditionally attracts many children to participate and needs more than 100 youth and adult volunteers to help with Bible studies, crafts, music and interactive dramas to make the lessons memorable and real to the participating children. The week culminates in VBS Sunday, where the children are showcased for their participation efforts.

Register to attend or volunteer at www.standrewsbrandon.com or call the church office at 813-689-6849.
