I'm an eight-year U.S. Navy veteran, enlisting in April 2002 and went on to serve until receiving an honorable discharge in March 2010.

My rating (naval occupation) was mass communication specialist. The primary duties of MCs were to produce still photos/motion pictures, write stories and broadcast news from the fleet throughout the world. My duty stations included an aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, Fleet Combat Camera, Atlantic and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Va. During my tour at COMCAM, I was deployed to five Middle East countries, including a combat zone in Iraq in 2006.

I received two Navy and Marine Corps achievement medals as a junior Sailor along with several letters of appreciation. My work appeared in military publications such as U.S. Navy All Hands magazine, Navy Medicine, Navy League, The Monitor; www.navy.mil, www.army.mil, www.defendamerica.com, www.worldnews.com along with other numerous Web sites. Other civilian publications such as Virginia Wildlife and Syracuse University's The Daily Orange.

I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography & graphic design from The Cooper Union in 1997. While enlisting in the Navy, I attended Military Visual Journalism program at Syracuse University in Aug. 2005 and graduated in May 2006. All expenses was paid for by the Department of Defense.

I relocated to Brandon, Fla. in April 2010 and love a Floridian laid-back lifestyle. I'm currently a freelance photojournalist who loves to travel throughout the state to shoot wildlife and nature. My wife and I own a Welsh Corgi, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Maine Coon.
