I'm a former news reporter and editor for the old United Press International and The Tampa Tribune. After 21 years in journalism, I left intending to teach school while also helping my wife, Ann Marie Vaughan, run her real estate business in the communities east and southeast of Tampa. Turns out that business has kept us both busy, even after the market downturn, as she averages a sale every 8 days. We've lived since 1992 in Riverview's Boyette Oaks neighborhood; our four teens attend Riverview High, Newsome High, USF and FSU.
