Patch visits the Florida Strawberry Festival, where seniors can save money on Thursday.
The 76th Annual Florida Strawberry Festival has a full slate of entertainment, games, rides, attractions and vendors. And on Thursday, seniors can enjoy all of it at a discounted price. The festival is known for its strawberries, and you can enjoy them in a milkshake, as part of strawberry shortcake, or just as they are. There’s plenty of other food, too, from deep-fried Oreos to a pork chop on a stick to chocolate-covered bacon (seriously). Strawberry Festival Queen dips season's first strawberries in chocolate at
For the second year, The Original Leena's Chocolates in Bloomingdale ushered in the strawberry season, inviting the Strawberry Festival queen to dip the season's first strawberries in chocolate this week. Natalie Burgin, 2010 Strawberry Festival queen, was on hand at Leena's Monday afternoon to help dip freshly picked strawberries from Brandon Farms in what has become a tradition for the chocolatier.
