Suspect in Bloomingdale Vehicle Theft Caught Following Chase

Glenn Maxwell of Plant City is accused of stealing a pickup truck and causing damage at Brookside Manor apartments.

A Plant City man is facing multiple charges today after allegedly causing havoc at a Bloomingdale apartment complex. Glenn Maxwell, 30, of 1036 Wiggins Rd., Plant City, is charged with grand theft auto, burglary of a vehicle, felony criminal mischief and fleeing and eluding deputies. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, at about 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, Maxwell reportedly entered the Ace Hardware store at 865 Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, where he stole several items. When confronted by the store manager, Maxwell gave him his identification and then fled the store on foot. Deputies responded but were unable to locate Maxwell.
