Puerto Rican native focuses on scenic landmarks
When Puerto Rican native Felix Velazquez piled his family on board his sail boat and headed toward the United States, he may have been leaving his homeland behind, but he wasn't abandoning his heritage. The engineer by trade relocated to Valrico after the factory he worked at in Puerto Rico closed. However, Velazquez frequently returns to his homeland to paint the Old-World architecture of his native land. A member of the Brandon League of Fine Arts, Velazquez depicts his homeland in bright hues and warm tones in a series of paintings he's done featuring the historic architecture of Old San Juan.
