Second Verizon Store Celebrated by Local Couple

The owners already operate another Verizon store, which is located on Apollo Beach.

Marc and Morgan Malaj are well-connected. Literally. That's because the couple is in the cell phone business. This week the Malajes celebrated the opening of their second Verizon Wireless store, located at 1019 E. Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico, according to the Osprey Observer. Marc Malaj emigrated to the U.S. from Albania. He opened his first Verizon store with his wife, Morgan, in 2010. It is located at 205 Apollo Beach. Two years later, he launched the Valrico store, with the opening celebrated this week. He credits his success to "friendly service, customer focus along with the great phone specials, which he said separates his stores from the others," according to the Osprey Obserever. Wawa Eyes Intersection of Bloomingdale and Lithia-Pinecrest

Business owners at the northwest intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue and Lithia-Pinecrest Road have been asked to vacate for their stores to make room for the construction of a Wawa gas station and convenience store.

One of Bloomingdale's oldest buildings and one of its newest buildings reportedly will be razed to make room for a new Wawa gas station and food market. Store owners at the northwest corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and Lithia-Pinecrest Road said they have been told to vacate their stores to make way for a new Wawa. Attempts to verify the reports with Wawa have been unsuccessful. However, Lee Ann Kennedy with the county's Planning and Growth Management Department verified that three properties at the intersection, including the building housing Consign Dezigns and Lucky Day Emporium, the newly constructed Verizon Wireless store and Outdoor Impressions, have been zoned for a Wawa. Sheriff's Office Seeks Identity of Cell Phone Store Bandit

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking information that may lead to the apprehension of a burglar who has struck eight cell phone stores throughout the county since July 23. According to the sheriff's office, cash was stolen from the cell phone store. In all cases, the burglar used an object such as a hammer, rock or flower pot to break the business window and gain entry.  The suspect either exited out the back door of the store or back through the entry point.  All but one of the burglaries occurred near midnight.  Among the stores burglarized was the Verizon Wireless store at 13166 U.S. 301 S., Riverview, July 24.
