U.S. Postal Service Considering Closing Stations

The list of postal stations recommended for closure is due to be released today.

Could your post office be on the list? Thousands of post offices around the country are due to be evaluated for possible closure. According to the Wall Street Journal, the organization will review about 3,600 offices across the country that could be closed. The list of the facilities that may be closed is due to be released today. At that time, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe will announce a concept for their possible replacement. The proposal to close post offices is the result of federal budget crunch and the public's declining use of mail to communicate. More Americans are paying bills online and sending letters via e-mail.
