Award-winning comedian and musician Barry McGee will perform at The Farm in Lithia Friday, March 29.
Need a laugh? Award-winning Christian comedian and musician Barry McGee will be happy to oblige. McGee will be the guest performer at The Farm, 7818 Lithia-Pinecrest Rd., Lithia, Friday, March 29. A musician and comedian for 22 years, McGee has worked with musicians Ricky Skaggs, Charlie Daniels, Aaron Neville and Lee Greenwood, among others. He also serves a a NASCAR chaplain when he isn't busy performing at youth crusades and church events. McGee has released a combination CD/DVD called “Nashville or Bust” and is about to release another titled "What'll I Do." Also performing Friday night will be The Weaver Believer Family. Country gospel music will have a chance to enjoy the music of 2012 Music Evangelist of the Year Tommy Brandt when he performs in concert at The Farm in Lithia Nov. 30. Brandt has had 12 No. 1 songs on the charts, was named Male Vocalist of the Year four times and was named 2012 Music Evangelist of the Year. Born in Lebanon, Ind., he said he found his passion for country music listening to the jukebox in the bar his family owned. "That was our full-time babysitter," Brandt said, recalling that his favorite song at 5 years old was Charlie Rich's classic, "When We Get Behind Closed Doors." Four bluegrass bands will perform in concert Friday, Dec. 30, at The Farm in Lithia.
Bluegrass music lovers will be sure to get their fill Friday night, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m., at The Farm in Lithia when the venue hosts a four local bluegrass groups, A2J Bluegrass, Cedar Creek, The Exum's and Flatland Bluegrass. "It ought to be a great time, particularly if you love bluegrass music," said Mike Holmes, who owns The Farm with his wife, Denise. Established in 2009, A2J Bluegrass is a gospel bluegrass ministry based in Polk County. A2J stands for Addicted to Jesus, and the focus of the group is on playing bluegrass and country gospel music to inspire listeners turn to Jesus Christ. 1. Looking for something to do tonight? The free Friday Summer Concert Series returns to Park Square in FishHawk Ranch June 24 from 7 to 10 p.m. with the ultimate Eric Clapton tribute band, Crossroads. Tampa-based tribute band Crossroads covers the entire career of guitar legend Eric Clapton from Cream to present day. This year, Newland Communities, sponsor of the concert series, is partnering with Feeding America Tampa Bay, and will host a food drive each Friday night. 1. A full and special Friday is coming up tonight at The Farm, 7818 Lithia-Pinecrest Road, Lithia. Two Nashville recording artists, Greg McDougal and Kids and Danny Ray Harris, will be on hand to perform. In addition, musician Sergei Timokin from Russia will be there. Timokin will share a brief testimony that will touch your heart. The weekend is upon us, and there's a plethora of activities taking place in Bloomingdale Patch, whether you're looking for entertainment or seeking to support a good cause. 1. The FishHawk Relay for Life kicks off today at 6 p.m. at Newsome High School, 16550 Fishhawk Blvd., Lithia, with 33 teams and 740 people participating. There is even a celebration for man's best friend
You don't have to drive miles to ring in the New Year. Here are five things to do right in your own community. 1.
