Valrico Motorcyclist Killed in Seffner Crash
Keith Richard Shontz, 49, was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene after a Seffner woman's SUV turned in front of him, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
A Valrico man was killed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV Tuesday night on State Road 574 in Seffner, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Keith Richard Shontz, 49, was traveling westbound on his 2003 Kawasaki shortly before 5 p.m. when a 2005 Ford Expedition driven by Elaine Bass Reeder, 59, of Seffner, made a left turn in front of him. Shontz's motorcycle struck the SUV's front passenger side, and he was ejected. He died at the scene. Shontz was not wearing a helmet, FHP reported. Investigators have preliminarily ruled that Shontz had the right of way. No charges have been filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
