Valrico Jewelrymaker Organizes Forum for Local Artisans

A variety of local artisans displayed their creations as part of the second annual Artisans Fair at Cork & Olive on Lithia-Pinecrest Road last month. Among them was the fair's organizer, Valrico resident Karen Lameier, owner of Wired & Stoned. Lameier creates one-of-kind stone and wire necklaces, earrings and bracelets, a hobby she began four years ago that has since turned into a home business. Many of her creations are made from sterling silver accented with natural stones or blown-glass beads created by her sister, Paula Mastroiani, who lives in Ohio. "My main business was custom-made draperies, but I got into jewelrymaking for a creative outlet," said Lameier. "Now it's become an addiction. There are so many beautiful beads and stones …
