It's Labor Day weekend and there are a multitude of ways to bid farewell to the summer. Here's a few of our suggestions for things to do this Labor Day weekend: 1. Weedon Island Preserve, 1800 Weedon Dr. N.E., St. Petersburg, will host a free Labor Day Sandbar Concert. Bring chairs, coolers and even the dog on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. and wade in the water while you listen to live music from a barge anchored off Weedon Island. This year's floating Labor Day party features blues and Southern rock by the Cross Creek Blues Band and Hal Hammer Jr. 2. Artists and art lovers of all ages can head to Center Place, 619 Vonderburg Dr., Brandon, Saturday, Sept. 1 for the annual "For the Love of Arts" Chalk Walk and "Celebration of the Arts" art show…

In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, the Happy Tomato Produce Market is now offering recycled yard art for sale.
You can get more than fresh fruits and locally grown vegetables at the Happy Tomato Produce Market. Now, you also can pick up a piece of artwork at the produce stand at 3623 Lithia-Pinecrest Rd., Valrico. Owners Ron and Tiffini Masessa have begun carrying a line of unique colorful sculptures and wind chimes created by Temple Terrace artist and welder Jeffrey DeBlasio using recycled tools, utensils and other metal pieces. Prices for a set of whimsical wind chimes range from $20 up while DeBlasio's sculptures, suitable for outdoors, range from $29 to $99. In addition to the artwork, the Masessas offer local honey, local honey, Whatever Pops all-natural popsicles made in South Tampa, fresh pasta made in Clearwater, local fresh, boiled peanuts…

The Happy Tomato Produce Market caters to customers from Bloomingdale, River Hills, Twin Lakes and surrounding neighborhoods.
With the emphasis today on eating natural foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, the Happy Tomato Produce Market at 3623 Lithia-Pinecrest Rd., Valrico, is attracting enthusiasts from nearby Bloomingdale and as far away as FishHawk Ranch. Bloomingdale East residents Ron and Tiffini Masessa decided to open the new produce stand March 1 after watching the property sit vacant for months. "There was a produce market here before that failed," said Ron Masessa. "But it was such a great location and this area needed a produce market. So we decided to give it a try."
