The victim's car was struck by a truck that failed to stop at a red light, according to investigators.
An accident in Brandon has killed a 40-year-old Riverview man, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Scott Elliot Valentino died Tuesday morning, when the Pontiac he was driving on Crescent Park Drive was hit by a 2008 Dodge pickup truck, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. According to investigators, Terrance Mitchell, 36, of Riverview failed to stop his truck at a red light at the intersection of Falkenburg Road and Crescent Park Drive. The truck struck the driver's door of the Pontiac driven by Valentino. Investigators estimated the truck's speed at about 60 mph, as it went through the red light. A 79-year-old Sun City Center woman is dead following a July 2 accident involving a 2003 Mack truck driven by a Temple Terrace man. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the truck, owned by TNS, Jr. Hauling of Riverview, was heading north on U.S. 301, just south of Falkenburg Road in the left turn lane when its brakes failed. The driver, W.L. Williams, 36, of Temple Terrace, attempted to avoid a crash by entering the grassy median and southbound lanes of U.S. 301. At that point, the truck ran into the path of a 2004 Acura driven by Priscilla Munsch, 34, of Riverview. When the two vehicles collided, nearly head-on, the Acura rotated counterclockwise and struck a 2005 Kia driven by the Sun City Center woman, the report said. The …

A Temple Terrace woman is dead following the Jan. 26 crash on Big Bend Road in Gibsonton.
A Riverview man was involved in a Jan. 26 crash on Big Bend Road that left a 19-year-old woman dead. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Neeshala Maraj of Temple Avenue in Tampa was walking in the roadway on Big Bend Road, near U.S. 41 in Gibsonton, around 11 p.m. Thursday night when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Gary Muder, 39, of Riverview. Muder was driving westbound on the road at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed and they are not expected, but the investigation continues, a sheriff’s office report said.
