In the mood for a free cup of coffee? Or how about an iced coffee or tea? Well, it's on our tab. In conjunction with Coffee House, 15282 FishHawk Blvd., Lithia, Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch is giving away free cups of coffee to anyone who brings in pet food to donate on Saturday, June 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Coffee House. Coffee House and Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch are hoping to fill the cupboards of Heidi's Legacy Dog Rescue in Lithia, which takes in abused and abandoned dogs and finds them loving homes. Who has the best customer service in the Bloomingdale-Riverview area? We asked and you answered. Boy, did you answer! We started out with 64 businesses, and after weeks of polling to narrow down the field of players, The Coffee House has emerged the champion in Bloomingdale-Riverview Patch’s first-ever customer service competition. The Coffee House edged Orange Home Accessories by a final tally of 10,190 to 8,967 in the championship round of the contest. Shannon Coughlin, manager of The Coffee House, was thrilled to learn the business had won. The FishHawk Area Networking Group's ninth annual Back-to-School Festival was a success, with about 1,000 school supplies donated to the YMCA.
This past Saturday was scorching hot across Florida, but one place to cool off a little and learn about area businesses was the FishHawk Area Networking Group (FANG) Back-to-School Festival. There was Italian ice being served from several area businesses, along with ice-cold bottled water to keep fair-goers cool and hydrated. "There were approximately 1,200 people that came out to support this year's event," said Marie Gilmore, FANG member and FishHawk Ranch resident. Each attendee was asked to bring along $10 worth of back-to-school supplies as admission to the event.
