Bloomingdale Citizen Patrol Volunteers Honored by Hillsborough Sheriff

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on Monday night recognized its most dedicated members of the Citizen Patrol on the fifth anniversary of the first class.

Having logged more than 42,000 man hours, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has one of the most successful Citizen Patrol groups in all of Florida. Sheriff David Gee was on hand at the Falkenburg Jail Assembly room on Monday night, March 12, to present awards to local volunteers who have logged more than 200 hours of service. The banquet recognized some special honorees, including members of the Bloomingdale patrol as well as Citizen Patrol Coordinator of the Year Lorraine Jordan. Vandals of Bloomingdale Citizen Patrol Cars Sought

The sheriff's office is seeking the public's help in identifying whoever damaged three cars.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking information leading to the identity of suspects responsible for vandalizing Citizen Patrol cars parked the the Bloomingdale Community Substation on Erindale Drive. According to a sheriff's reports, vandals targetted three Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Citizen Patrol vehicles between Friday, May 27, at 10 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, at 7 a.m.  The vandals  used bricks, chunks of asphalt and a metal pipe to shatter windshields, windows and tail lights on the cars, rendering the cars undrivable. Damage is estimated at $6,000.
