Organizers of a popular fall festival for dogs and dog lovers alike are seeking vendors and sponsors. This year's Dog Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Circa FishHawk off Boyette Road in Lithia. A variety of sponsorship levels are available: The cut-off date to be a $1,000 Top Dog sponsor/vendor is Sept. 1. Top Dog sponsors will have their company's logos on the event T-shirts, their name and logo in all news and media releases relating to the event, prime vendors locations, the inclusion of promo items in goodie bags, a company listing on the prgram, sponsorship recogntion on Aliquity's website and the opportunity to have two 30-second "commercials" during the event. County commissioners on Tuesday approved a plan to relieve Newland Communities of previously approved road improvement obligations, including the widening of Bell Shoals Road.
In a 5-1 vote Tuesday, Hillsborough County commissioners agreed to release Newland Communities from its obligation to spend $30 million on surrounding road improvements including the widening of Bell Shoals Road to four lanes from Boyette Road to Lithia-Pinecrest Road. Commissioner Victor Crist’s was the dissenting vote. Newland Communities is in the process of developing Circa FishHawk on 1,127 acres off Boyette Road, west of its current FishHawk Ranch development. In the developer’s original Development of Regional Impact, called the Lake Hutto DRI, Newland proposed building 3,192 homes as well as commercial and office property on the site. The new Circa FishHawk Kids R Kids invites residents to tour the facility May 21 from noon to 3 p.m. Located at 5815 Kids Crossing Drive, Lithia, behind Mosaic Co. off FishHawk Boulevard, the new facility is set to open in time for summer camp. The sneak peak on Saturday will include lunch, refreshments and a gift for those touring the new state-of-the-art, eco-friendly building. Co-owners Keith Balot and Ben Fernades also own the Valrico Kids R Kids located on Lynx Paw Trail, which has been in operation for seven years. The school, which has the capacity to enroll up to 240 students, offers a variety of care options including full-time, part-time and drop-in daycare.
