A tailgate party, pep rally and royal court announcement are some of the activities planning for Homecoming Week at Canine Cabana.
Homecoming is no longer just for high school and college students. This year Canine Cabana, 9708 Carr Rd., Riverview, is hosting a full week of homecoming activities for the family pet. Monday, Sept. 17, will be Greek Day at Canine Cabana. Dogs are encouraged to wear their togas or sport an outfit representing their owners' favorite fraternity or sorority. Tuesday, Sept. 18, pooches are encouraged to sport their favorite color. Wednesday, Sept. 19, is Pajama Day at Canine Cabana. Thursday Sept. 20th is Wacky Tacky Mis-Matchy Day. The pups were dressed in their best and strutted their stuff in a bubble-filled parade. Egg hunts and bobbing for biscuits was paired with cupcakes and hula hoops. Angie Frazier and Kendall Duncan may be working with less challenging animals these days, but their job hasn't become simpler because of it. The pair of former Busch Gardens zookeepers spent years with hyenas, lions, tigers and elephants, but these days, their four-legged friends are of the domestic variety.
