At my editor's suggestion, I went in search of a particular barbecue joint but my sense of direction was a bit off that day and I wound up in Lithia at a little place called The Squirrel's Kitchen, 16721 Fishhawk Blvd. I thought I'd check it out. You never know if there is a gem hiding in an obscure jewelry box. I wouldn't know from this place. For some reason, they made my food to-go as if I wasn't welcome. I'm not sure if that was actually a blessing in disguise or not. The place had no sense of decor with the tables being painted a zinc-chromate color, a paint used as a primer for aluminum structures on U.S. Navy ships. It also appeared as if they didn't want you staying there in their tiny two-seater tables meant for very tiny people. …

Another Frank, Might be something with guys named Frank and BBQ, my wife and I went to bubbaques Friday for dinner on the recommendation of this critique and found it to be a great resturant with great food and friendly service. I had the same meal as the writer, and had some fried green tomatoes along, with it, we both enjoyed it and will definately be eating here again soon, I'm looking forward… more ›
