Bloomingdale will travel to face Freedom in a nondistrict match-up tonight at 7pm.
After coming off of a heart-breaking 11-2 loss to district opponent Alonso, the Bulls look to bounce back as they play the Patriots tonight in Tampa. Since losing to Durant in late March, Bloomingdale (12-9-0, 4-4-0, tie third place 6A District 8) had not suffered a loss by such a large deficit. Prior to their loss, the Bulls had won two straight games against Brandon and Leto. Overall the Bulls are 4-3 when traveling. They bring a team BA of .295, 13 HR's and 43 stolen bases into tonight's game. Defensively, Bloomingdale has a .938 fielding percentage for the season. The pitching staff currently maintains an ERA of 3.77 and allows opposing teams a .253 BA. Freedom (9-9-0, 5-6-0, fifth place, 5A District 8) won their first game in their …

The Lady Bulls increased their lead in the post-season with a win at Alonso on Friday night.
Bloomingdale pitching outlasted the Alonso bats as the Lady Bulls pulled off a tough road win, 2-1, in Tampa on Friday. With the win, Bloomingdale (14-9-0, 6-2-0, second place, 6A District 8) kept pace with Plant in the district standings as Alonso (15-7-0, 4-4-0, third place, 6A District 8) is now essentially ruled out of post-season play. Since coming off of a very impressive sweep in their March tournament, Bloomingdale has won three of its last four games, losing only to Plant, 2-0. The most impressive swing in the success has been Bloomingdale's pitching. Since a tough end in the month February and a rocky start to the month of March, the Lady Bulls pitching staff have been nearly unbeatable while shutting six different teams out and …

Bloomingdale falls behind in the 6A District 8 race with a loss to Alonso on Friday night.
Bloomingdale took an early lead in Tampa on Friday night; only to surrender 11 runs in a loss to Alonso, 11-2. Opening a decisive district game by scoring two runs in the first inning would be an early indication of any team's desire to participate in post-season play. For Bloomingdale, (12-9-0, 4-4-0, tied third place 6A District 8), the first inning was the only inning a runner would advance across home plate as Alonso's (14-4-0, 6-2-0, first place 6A Division 8) Jose Fernandez collected himself and blanked the Bulls for six straight innings. Richie Martin, Jeff Griffith and Brycen Gladbach aided the Bulls' offense and notched the only hits in a game that was dominated by Ravens pitching and set askew by untimely Bloomingdale fielding …

Bloomingdale traveled to Tampa on Tuesday with an eye on the district as they shutout Wharton, 6-0.
Wharton quickly found themselves in unfamiliar territory on Tuesday. With pinpoint pitching, solid defense and timely batting, Bloomingdale shut-out the Wildcats, 6-0. In its previous games, Wharton's pitching and batting found them baseball favor. Someone obviously forgot to pass that information along to the Bulls on Tuesday night as they combined to pitch a two hit shut-out and took advantage of Wildcat pitching to total 13 hits on 32 at bats. Bulls ace Robby Kalaf, coming off of a beautiful 112 pitch performance against Alonso on Friday, continued his magic on the mound against the best Wharton had to offer. Kalaf threw 74 pitches in five innings, striking out six and allowed only 2 hits and no earned runs. In recent games, it was the …

The Bulls will travel to Wharton tomorrow for two-game stand.
It has notably been the long ball that has haunted Bloomingdale pitching in its last two games. Coming off heart-breaking losses to Plant City and Alonso, the Bulls look to bounce back tomorrow when they travel to Wharton. In conference standings, both of tomorrow's games carry heavy significance as a loss for Bloomingdale will put them further behind both Brandon and Alonso for the District 8 race for first place. Bloomingdale (5-5-0, 2-2-0 in 6A District8) can breathe a small sigh of relief knowing they leed Wharton (5-4-0, 1-3-0 in 6A District8) by a game as a result of their 6-5 victory in February. However, the Bulls know that each breath must be quick as that game came down to the last inning as Wharton scored five runs in the …

Bloomingdale falls short against tough Alonso pitching on Friday night.
It was widely known that this would be a great match-up between two of the top teams battling for position in the Hillsborough County 6A District 8 standings. On Friday night, fans at Bloomingdale High School witnessed a game that certainly lived up to the hype. Pitching dominated Friday's game as both teams amassed a total of only seven hits and two runs as Bloomingdale fell short against division opponents Alonso at home, 2-0. Bloomingdale (5-5-0, third place in 6A District 8) came into Friday's game with one thing on their mind-- a win. Alonso (6-2-0, tied first place, 6A District 8) making the long travel made little use of Bloomingdale's bats and took advantage of unfortunate mistakes to win an important conference match-up. Pitching …

Bulls baseball returns home as Bloomingdale faces Alonso Friday at 7 p.m.
Bloomingdale baseball returns home on Friday night as the Bulls host Alonso in a 6A Conference match-up. Coming off a heart-breaking loss to Plant City on Tuesday night, Bloomingdale (5-4-0, third place, 6A District 8) will look to rebound against conference opponent Alonso (5-2-0, second place, 6A District 8) and get an early jump in the district standings. Friday's match-up will be the first of two meetings for the two teams in the 2011 season. Bloomingdale posts a 2-1 win-loss record in its previous three games with wins against Brandon and Riverview. They are also 3-2 when playing at home. Alonso will come into Friday nights game with a perfect 3-0 record in its last three games, posting an impressive runs for versus against total of …

Play starts Thursday
Charging ahead… The Bloomingdale Bulls will head into regional action on Thursday with a head full of steam. It began back in November at Wharton High School. The Bloomingdale Boys Soccer Team dropped a 0-1 decision to the Wildcats. Bloomingdale 0 Wharton 1. They must not like the taste of losing… Since that Nov. 12 loss, the Bulls went on an astounding 18-game streak where they did not lose a match. They had to settle for ties against Alonso, Plant City and Brandon but would crush Alonso, 9-1, later in January. They finished the regular season 9-3-1. That November loss to Wharton was the only blemish on their district record. They blew through The Wharton Invitational in mid-January, crushing Sickles, Berkeley Prep and Lennard in group …
