You've "concluded that schools could better use the time and limited resources to teach skillsRead More more relevant to our world tomorrow" ? you mean like- keyboarding? But then that would be essentially the same as arguing "that auto-correct has made the teaching of spelling an anachronism" so you have already made it. Don't you think WRITING is one of those skills "that schools could better use the time and limited resources to teach skills more relevant to our world tomorrow" ? So then the question becomes what writing should they teach eg keyboarding, block lettering, cursive. Teaching keyboarding is short sighted. Do you really thing we will all be pecking away at a keyboard in the near future when tablets already recognize handwriting and also voice recognition/translation. In which case cursive is the most efficient way to communicate ideas in handwriting and (going back to your rationale) is precisely the skill that schools could better use their time and limited resources teaching as it is the skill that is more relevant to our world tomorrow"

Common core will soon have the education system discriminating against minorities more like theRead More prison system already does. It has already been in progress, check it out at Scott Adam's blog article "NAACP demands ignored until Superintendent's contract extended" http://southtampa.patch.com/groups/scott-adams-blog/p/naacp-demands-ignored-until-superintendents-contract-extended

Cookie cutter education, and the elimination of the individual student. I'm so sick of thisRead More "everybody is the same, we have to be fair" BS. These idiots that are pushing this program, are forgetting, that all kids are different, and they l learn differently. You cannot implement one size fits all education. This will crumble under its own weigh just like Obamacare. But it will fail at the expense of our children. Get rid if these communist morons, that pedal this stuff.

It's gotten a bit extreme the cost of school supplies. We parents have to supply everythingRead More including copy paper for classroom, because schools are given NO money anymore.
