Honorary Mayor's Race Pub Crawl Scheduled Today

The event kicks off at 2 p.m.

Residents are invited to come out and support Elijah Heath's big to become the next honorary mayor of Riverview today, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. starting at Heath's Edward Jones office, 16132 Churchview Drive, Suite 201, in FishHawk Ranch.

Heath is hosting  pub crawl. The admission of $25 per person or $40 per couplce includes food and beverages.

Heath, representing the FishHawk/Riverview Rotary Club, is competing against Mary Boyd of C1 Bank and Molly Blanton of the Boy Scouts of America to become the community's next honorary mayor.

Here's some of the other fundraisers planned for the candidates:

Sept. 4: Mary Boyd will host a Family Movie Night at AMC Regency 20, 2496 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, starting at 6 p.m. The movie being played is "The Odd Life of Timothy Green." The $20 tickets include the movie, dinner, a drink and popcorn. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are nonrefundable. Tickets are available at C1 Bank (Riverview), Chick-fil-A, Lake Brandon Village and The Osprey Observer.
 
Sept 8: Molly Blanton invites residents to participate in a Murder Mystery Dinner Event, an evening filled with deceit, backstabbing, fun and laughter, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Preserve at Alafia, 10110 Gibsonton Dr., Riverview. Admission is $27 for singles, $47 for couples. Call Blanton at 813-210 1788.

Sept. 11: Heath will host a Movie Night featuring "The Campaign" with Will Farrel and Zach Galifianakis at the AMC Regency 20, 2496 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets include dinner and drinks and are $25 each or two for $40. Call Heath at 813-716-5341.      

Sept. 14: Blanton will host a Pizza Crawl beginning at Joia's Fabulous Pizza and Martini Bar, 10475 Gibsonton Dr., Riverview, starting at 5:30 p.m. Participants will visit local pizza restaurants, ending with a vote to name Riverview's best pizza at The Alley, 10221 Big Bend Rd., Riverview. There will be door prizes, dessert and entertainment. Admission is $16. Call Blanton at 813-210 1788.

Sept. 14: Boyd will host a The Barn Dance at the Winthrop Barn Theatre, 11349 W. Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview, starting at 7 p.m. The event will include dinner, dancing raffles and prizes. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children and are available at C1 Bank in Riverview. Call 813-672-0999.

Sept. 15: Blanton will ost a Sunset Wine Tasting at The Preserve at Alafia, 10110 Gibsonton Dr., Riverview, starting at 6:25 p.m. The cost is $16. Call Blanton at 813-210-1788.

Sept. 18: Heath will host an Opera Mafia from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Italian Kitchen Cafe, 6915 U.S. 301, Riverview. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite "Mafia" character. The cost os $25 per person, $40 per couple includes food and beverages. Call 813-657-2078.

Sept. 20: Heath will host Magic Mike Night, a male dancer-themed ladies night party featuring Enormous Ed, Bodacious Bryant and Terrific Todd at The Green Iguana Bar & Grill, 6264 Winthrop Town Center, Riverview, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each or two for $40 and include food and beverages. Sept 21: Heath will follow up with an Oktoberfest from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Winthrop Barn Theatre, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview. The event will include a poker tournament. Admission is $25 per person, $40 per couple.

Sept 23: Boyd will host a Wet Willie Family Picnic at YMCA Camp Cristina at 1 p.m. Bring the family for a fun day enjoying the new Wet Willie Water Slide at YMCA Camp Cristina, 9840 Balm-Riverview Rd., Riverview. Tickets are available at C1 Bank in Riverview.  

Sept. 25: Heath will host a Cigar Tasting at Winthrop Liquors, 11127 Winthrop Market St., Riverview, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25 each or two for $40. Call 813-657-2078.

Every dollar raised by the candidates equals one vote. The candidate who raises the most money will be declared the 2013 honorary mayor of Riverview.
