Start Saving On Produce When No Coupons Can Be Found!

Learn how to get more for your money when purchasing produce!

Did you know there was a way to get the most for your money on produce without using coupons?

One of our favorite fruits to eat is Apples!  My husband has eaten two to three apples everyday of his work week for the past four years!  Wow!  I don't think I can eat them like he does but we all do love to munch on them through the week.  The cheapest way we have found to purchase apples is to buy them by the bag with a set price per bag.

Take a look at this example:  3lbs of bagged apples for $2.99.  In a 3lb bag of apples you will maybe get 9-11 apples depending on their size.  The package has to be at least 3lbs or higher.  Higher is the key word because each bag does not weigh the same amount.  What you want to do is try and find a scale if the store has one or try to weigh a bag in each hand to see which is heaviest for the better deal!  I have done this many times in my shopping trips!

My family was at the store the other day and my 11 year old daughter wanted to try Key Limes.  We told her she could get them.  They were about $2.50 per bag.  She walked over and picked up a bag of Key Limes and decided to pick up another bag in her other hand to see which was the heaviest.  She said "Wow, this one is heavier so I am going to get the heaviest bag and get a better deal for the price!"  I guess she has been paying attention to my shopping trips!  That makes me a proud mom!

The key to shopping for produce is to weigh each item and find the heaviest fruit or veggie at the "sale price" per item.  You will be amazed at how much you will save on your future fruit and veggie purchases!

Now you know the way to save on the best food out there!  Make it a game each time you go shopping, it will make spending your money a lot easier and more fun!

Happy Produce Weighing!
