Neighbors Say End Fireworks By 10 p.m.

We asked when you think people should stop lighting fireworks in on our streets. Most who responded said the same thing.

Hearing fireworks throughout our neighborhoods is common place around the Fourth of July, but when does it go too far?

We asked on the boards and on Facebook if people keep their Independence Day parties going too late, long after others have went to bed. And, users responded with a flurry of comments.

"I'd really like it to end by 10pm. Past that it starts to interfere with bedtimes and such," wrote Patch user Carol.

More of you weighed in that 10 p.m. should be the latest for setting off fireworks in Bloomingdale, FishHawk and Riverview.

"I wish people would stop by 10 at the latest. It never happens though," posted Karen Newport Fridge.

Others have raised general concerns about the impact the loud noises have on their pets.

"My dog is shaking, cowering, and stressed. Why can't the fireworks be limited to just the holiday, with some time constraints," Leslie Steele White asked on Facebook.

So, as the week goes on, and the price of fireworks drops after the holiday, maybe we can all agree to put them away at 10 p.m. And, wouldn't it be nice if everyone considered who has pets and kids living next door that may like a break even earlier?
