Did Diver Chris Colwill Advance to the Olympic Semifinals?

Spolier Alert: Did Chris Colwill dive well enough to advance to the semifinals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London? Colwill trained at Brandon Sports & Aquatic Center and his family lives near Bloomingdale.

 

If you're planning to watch Chris Colwill's dives tonight on television and you don't want to know how he did earlier today at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, read no further.

But if you want to know if his six dives today, Aug. 6, were good enough to earn him a spot in tomorrow's semifinal round of competition for the men's 3-meter springboard competition, continue reading.

Colwill, 27, who developed a love for diving as a youngster at the Brandon Sports & Aquatic Center, and trained there throughout his youth, dove well enough at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London on Aug. 6 to advance to the semifinals. Colwill placed seventh in today's preliminary round. The top 18 divers advanced to the semifinals. Colwill's family lives in the Bloomingdale area.

The semifinals are scheduled to start 5 a.m. Aug. 7, followed by the finals at 2 p.m. Live-streaming and recaps are available online at the NBC Olympics Web site. Colwill is competing for the gold in the men's 3-meter springboard competition.
