Lady Bulls Hungry for State Championship

The volleyball team will begin the season Aug. 30 at home against Plant City.

Upon taking the helm of the  volleyball team in 2009, coach Danielle Leffler has consistently positioned the Lady Bulls for greatness in Hillsborough County.

As the 2011-12 season looms on the horizon, the Lady Bulls are hungry once again and ready to prove they can compete for a state championship.

In the 2010 season, the Lady Bulls (18-7-0; 5-2, 8A District 7 Conference) made great adjustments and proved themselves worthy of recognition as they made a late run in the state playoffs.

Led by an impressive foursome of seniors in 6-foot-2 middle blocker Nicole Higgins (201 attack kills, 60 blocks), outside hitter Katie Fife (256 attack kills), left-side hitter Samantha Kemp (329 digs) and Jessica Sawicki (who was also named as Bloomingdale's High School Female Athlete of the Year), the 2011 Bulls will rely heavily on their core of returning players to fill some very big shoes.
