Whether running is your sport or you simply want to get in condition for the fall team sports season, this clinic is for you.
Steve Dunn, owner of running store, 13433 FishHawk Blvd., Lithia, along with former Riverview High School football coach Larry Bass, will host the fifth annual Summer Running Clinic on Aug. 8-12 and Aug. 15-19.
The clinic is geared to high school athletes, ages 13 up, preparing for fall sports.
"It's for anyone who wants to learn to run fast, strong and build endurance, Dunn said. "You will learn proper nutrition, hydration and injury prevention."
In addition, each participant will receive a certificate of completion, a personal evaluation and a T-shirt at the end of the two-week period.
The clinic will take place from 7:30-10 a.m. each day at Hawk Park in FishHawk Phase I.
The cost is $300 for two weeks, or $200 for one week.
A marathon runner and adventure racer as well as a former Newsome High School cross-country and track coach, Dunn has 25 years of running experience and has completed more than 150 races.
Bass has 30 years of experience coaching cross-country, track and football at Riverview, Brandon and Bloomingdale high schools. He's a certified running coach, an ironman tri-athlete and has completed more than 250 races.
