FishHawk To Host 1st Soccerfest This Weekend

Parents can register their children in-person during the Soccerfest

The FishHawk Ranch Soccer Club, now in its third year at the FishHawk Youth Sports Complex, 16112 FishHawk Blvd., is preparing for its spring program, with its first Soccerfest Jan. 21-22 at the sports complex.

The club offers recreational program for children U5 through U14, competitive, or select, programs for U9 through U14, and a co-ed adult recreational program.

This doubleheader Soccerfest weekend is for all recreational teams. There will be bounce houses, soccer-themed games, face painting, hair coloring, balloons and raffles at the booster club table.

Hoops, the mascot from the Rowdies, also will make a special appearance.

Any parents interested in earning volunteer hours during the Soccerfest or at the booster club table during the season should contact volunteer coordinator Shannon Brown at BranLogan0104@yahoo.com.

In addition to on-line registration, the club is offering in-person registration this weekend. The registration deadline is Jan. 24 and any registrations after this date will result in late fees.   

If your child did not play in the fall program, or you are registering a new child in the program, parents should bring a copy of the child's birth certificate and a medical release filled out on his/her behalf and notarized. The club will have a Notary Public at the in-person registration to notarize medical releases.

If chance you registered your child online, but still have not had your medical release notarized, stop by during this time and have it done. The club also will accept copies of birth certificates at in-person registration.

The fee schedule for spring recreational soccer, including uniform, is $110 for U5-U7 (ages 4 to 6); $135 for U8-U12 (ages 7 to 11); and $155 for U12-U15 (ages 12 to 14).

The FishHawk Soccer Club also will host a coaching clinic Tuesday, Jan. 18, with Jack Dikranian, director of soccer, from 6 to 7 p.m. Dikranian will conduct a coaching module on the topic of “passing.” Recreational coaches, head and assistant coaches interested in attending, should come to the session at the sports complex. There is no need to register.

Free training sessions for U5 and U6 will take place Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Fields 9 and 10. A free training session for U10 boys will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Field 4.

Free training sessions will continue Wednesday, Jan. 26, with U12 girls meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. on Field 1B. U12 boys will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.
