FishHawk Road Runners Present Scholarships to Seniors

Two graduating Newsome High School seniors will run with a lighter financial load thanks to scholarships from the FishHawk Road Runners Club.

For the fifth year, the club founded by Steve Dunn, owner of  Hit the Trails running store, presented college scholarships to graduating seniors who excel both in the sport of running and in academics.

The scholarships came from proceeds of the club's races during the past year including the FishHawk Road Race. 

This year's winners, receiving $1,000 scholarships each, are Brianna Jackson and Lars Benner

Past scholarship winners include Sean Buono - Bloomingdale High; Bryce Loudermilk - Newsome High; Rebecca Webster - Newsome High; Janna Edwards - Bloomingdale High; Mike Zwijacz - Newsome High; Cormac McCarty - Bloomingdale High; and Michael Babinec - Riverview High.
