Bulls Baseball Set to Take on Plant City
The Bloomingdale Bulls baseball team will face Plant City tonight at 7 p.m.
Bloomingdale baseball will return to Plant City tonight as the Bulls meet the Raiders for the first time this season in a nondistrict match-up.
Coming into tonight's game, both teams are playing at a high level in this young 2011 season. Bloomingdale (5-3-0, 2-1-0, third place, 6A District 8) will face Plant City (5-1-0, 4-1-0, first place, 5A District 8) where the Raiders remain undefeated at home with a perfect, 4-0-0 record. The Bulls currently split a 1-1 away record this season.
Bloomingdale has split its previous two games with a 1-1 record against Riverview and Durant. Led by junior Richard Martin (.417 batting average), the Bloomingdale bats have been extremely efficient with a .306 average against opposing teams.

The power numbers for the Bulls are producing runs for the offense and are led by senior Austin Wilson who maintains a .310 average with four runs batted in and three home runs.
In the Bulls' 8-5 win versus Riverview, Garret Lorenzo and Justin Ambrosio combined for seven hits, including two doubles, driving in three runs. Tonight, the Bulls must continue this hitting trend versus a very tough Raider pitching staff who collectively post a stingy 2.45 ERA and a batting average of .207 against opposing batters.

Bloomingdale's pitching staff, led by senior Robby Kalaf (1-0, 30 K's, 0.00 ERA, 24.2 IP's) remains the backbone of their current success.
