Bloomingdale High School Basketball Camp Opens Its First Session

More than 20 students registered for four days of challenging fun.

Where: Mulrennan Middle School, 4215 Durant Road, Valrico.

Bloomingdale High School head basketball coach Joe Willis is offering the Bulls Basketball Camp for boys and girls of all skills levels this week.

"The camp focuses on fundamental skills," said assistant coach Dwight Campbell. It's open to any experienced or inexperienced player. If a player can shoot the ball well with a strong hand, the coaches will challenge them to shoot with a weak hand, he said.

The reason this camp isn't at Bloomingdale High School gymnasium is because the school is under renovation. No children are allowed on the campus for safety reasons, said Willis. It's instead relocated to Mulrennan Middle School.

The camp will be held in three one-week sessions. Session I is from June 20-23 and Session II will be June 27-30. Session III will be in the second week of July. Students from third- to fifth-grade levels will be in morning sessions while sixth- to eighth-grade students will be in the afternoon. The cost of each session is $75.
