Sessums Drummers Perform at Multicultural Festival

The Sessums Elementary school drummers, Stallion Thunder, performed at the fifth annual Hillsborough County Elementary Music Teachers Council Multicultural Festival Friday, March 22.

Shore Elementary in Ybor City has hosted this event for two years running. Tracy Messina, co-chair of the event and director of the world drumming group, brought the thunderous sounds of the African drums.

During the festival, schools throughout the county showcase their student musicians, playing music from around the world as a way to bring children, families, teachers and the community together.
