Hillsborough School Employees Line Up Early to Support Romney

The Seffner residents arrived at 2 p.m. to get a spot in the front of the line.

Three Hillsborough County School District employees arrived at Land O' Lakes High School at 2 p.m. Saturday to make sure they were among the first inside for Mitt Romney rally.

"We know we need to get (President Barack) Obama out," Donna Posey said. "This country can't last another four years with him."

Posey and her husband, Robert, of Seffner, said they wanted to avoid the lines and ensure they got a good spot once inside, she said.

The Poseys were joined by friend and former colleague Kathy Giel of Seminole Heights, a retired Hillsborough school district employee.

And while they were waiting patiently at the front of the line to enter John Benedetto Stadium, where gates opened at about 4:30 p.m., about a dozen members of the Pasco County teachers union gathered at the front of the school to protest the visit, along with Florida’s former Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink.

Giel said she spent two years as a member of the Hillsborough County teacher's union, then she "realized what the union was about and dropped out," she said.

What I struggle with most about Governor Romney and these men he endorses for high office. Is that they want to end ALL abortion for ALL women and say things like if you are raped they don't want you to terminate the pregnancy because it is 'God's will'. And these SAME people say the will repeal Obamacare because they don't want Government in 'their' (tax payer paid for) health care. It truly is maddening ignorance.

Chas, amazing that upsets you, but the $16 trillion (and climbing fast) of debt goes right over your head. That is truly maddening ignorance.

No...its amazing that you would classify social issues as the same as economic issues. And news flash...that 16 trillion in debt is going to climb no matter who wins because we're still paying off the debt brought on by two wars entered after a tax cut. If you really want to be outraged, be so because tax cuts continue for all (myself included) while we still incur this debt. Simple economics (that if you can understand, Steve)...If you are in debt, you cut spending and increase revenue.

The debt can be paid off, how did you expect the country to get out of the position we were in and caused by the previous administration.(Liar) Romney wants to go down same path that put us there, but the wealthy will never be affected by whatever happens, they will not lose their income. The rich get richer and the middle class get poorer.
