"The advice that we give to anybody is give yourself plenty of time and to be patient, because on the first day of school lots of parents want to drive their kids to school even though they're going to be driving a bus everyday of the year," said Stephen Hegarty, Hillsborough County ls spokesman. "It makes for much more traffic, so if everyone is patient and realizes it's the first day everything will be fine."
