Newsome High School's 490 seniors graduated May 31 at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall.

Family members, friends and fellow students packed the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall Thursday, May 31 to watch as 490 seniors bid farewell to their high school years.

The class of 2012 was all smiles as it made its way into the expo hall wearing navy caps and gowns.

"It's very exciting," said senior Amber Wilton, posing for a photo with classmates Katie Reigner and Mark Willis prior to the processional.

"We're happy we've made it," added Reigner.

The ceremony included a salutatorian address by Michael Mozzicato and a valedictorian speech by Christina Hendryx. Class President Haley Doyle led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Elite 2012 presented the National Anthem. Hillsborough County School Board member April Griffin was on hand to confer diplomas.
