Madison Davey wins Newsome Idol 2011

Twelve contestants vied for the title of Newsome Idol on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Newsome High School sophomore Madison Davey sang her way to victory as Newsome Idol 2011.

In its fourth year, Newsome Idol has become a popular fundraising event for the Newsome Chorus Program. Hosted by students Sarah Shook and Michael Yu, the evening began with the top 12 performers, selected from previous auditions open to all Newsome students. The audience was treated to an evening of entertaining performances and amazing vocals, ranging from country, top hits and show tunes to classic rock.

Following each performance, the panel of judges, Newsome teacher Lindsey Ragsdale, Randall Middle School Chorus Director Melissa Allen and Music Showcase instructor Miguel Oquendo, provided their feedback and comments.
