Jeremy Rosado Promotes Single, CD at Riverview Idol

It's been an eventful year since Jeremy Rosado was voted off American Idol as a Top 13 finisher. He'll be on the radio today, March 22, as he prepares this month to release his first single on iTunes and Amazon and to release his CD at Nativity Catholic Church.

Rosado gave a preview of what's to come at the final round of the 2013 Riverview Idol contest, held March 19 at Riverview High School. He both performed at and judged the contest, which featured five final contestants from which two winners were crowned: Monica Krajewski and Madison Kinney.

What's to come is the March 26 release of "Don't Be Afraid" on iTunes and Amazon, a single off Rosado's debut CD, which will be released April 6 at the Nativity Youth Center.

Dubbed "JerBear" by American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, Rosado was set to be on the the Big Big House Morning Show on Spirit FM 90.5 today, March 22. The morning show is from 6 to 10.

"It's just a wonderful full circle of events," said Meredith Scribner, Rosado's voice teacher, at the Riverview Idol contest. "It's great to see that [the American Idol] elimination wasn't the end of the road and that he has such a bright future ahead of him."

What makes Rosado's voice so likable, and marketable, is its flexibility, which Scribner described as "about a three-octave range."

She said she met him at church, as his choir director, when he was 12-years-old.

"He had an amazing soprano voice that I thought he'd lose but he didn't, and then he got the lower notes, too," she said.

That range was on display March 19 at Riverview High School, where Rosado sang, "Don't Be Afraid," the single that will be released online March 26.

With a CD set to follow almost two weeks later, Rosado said he finds the situation "kind of surreal, unbelievable."

"I feel so blessed to have the opportunity and so grateful to everyone who has listened to me and believed in me."

His first single, he said, he wrote with Pablo Villatoro, formerly of Group 1 Crew, and Mara Shultz.

"I wanted something that would be current and pop-ish, what our generation's listening to, but with a message and inspirational," Rosado said. "I wanted to encourage them, give them hope, and give them something positive to listen to."
