The fire occurred July 27, destroying items in two kindergarten classrooms.

The July 28 fire destroyed the contents of two kindergarten classrooms at , 3950 Falkenburg Rd., Riverview.

"Holly has lost everything that was in her classroom," said fellow Frost teacher Melissa Stoevsand. "Jamy's classroom has heavy smoke damage and a lot of her things are not salvagable. These ladies have been teaching for 17 years combined. Thousands of dollars worth of personal materials were lost and the school district does not cover personal loss."

Opened in August 2005, Frost Elementary is a Title I school, with a high percentage of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, she noted.

"These two teachers are amazing," said Stoevsand. "They need your help to rebuild their classroom resources in order to be able to reach all of the students in their classrooms."

The school is seeking gift cards from Target, Staples, Walmart, Amazon, Office Depot, Barnes & Noble Booksellers and Books a Million to help the teachers replace the lost items.

Additionally, Stoevsand has established an Adopt A Classroom page where donations can be made.
