Homeschool Back-to-School Bash

Tampa Bay HEAT, a nonprofit homeschool support group, will host a back-to-school bash at the Homeschool Resource Center, 307 S. Parsons Ave., Brandon Friday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Homeschool Resource Center is a ministry of Tampa Bay HEAT (Home Education Activities Teams), which provides low-cost academic and athletic support to the 2,500 home-schooled students in Hillsborough County.

The free event is for current and potential home-schooled students and will include information on support groups, how to get started homeschooling, the 2011-12 class offerings, free demonstrations in fencing, dance, shuffleboard, art, drama, music, chess and sports.
