Home Canning Class

The Hillsborough County Cooperative Extension, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner, will offer two home-canning classes.

The first class is on Home Canning of Sweets, Pickles and Fruits. This class demonstrates equipment and procedures needed to can fruit and make jams and pickles. Participants will receive recipes and information enabling them to go home ready to begin canning. A $5 donation is requested to cover costs.

The second class is on Home Canning of Vegetables, Meats and Seafood. This class demonstrates equipment and procedures needed to can vegetables, meats and seafood. Participants will receive recipes and information enabling them to go home ready to begin canning. A $5 donation is requested to cover costs. Participants can bring their canner or gauge for testing.
