Residents can learn how to manage lawns, landscaping and produce during Florida-Friendly Landscaping 101 Saturday, Aug. 18, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Hillsborough County Extension Service, 5339 County Road 579 in Seffner.
Participants will hear the best and the latest from University of Florida and local Hillsborough County Extension Service horticulturists on such topics as:
Produce Safety and Canning
Turfgrass
Vegetables in the Landscape
Terrariums
Succulents for the Landscape
Palms
The Frugal Gardener
The guest speaker, Penny Carnathan, will share her gardening experiences and humor. Lynn Barber, Florida-Friendly Landscaping agent, will kick off this event. The conference also includes a “goodie” bag with resources to take home, snacks and refreshments.
Spaceis limited, so register early. There is no registration fee for this learning event.
