Bloomingdale Library Hosts 8th Annual Bookmark Contest

The library is inviting children to design a bookmark that will be used by the library throughout the year.

The Friends of the Bloomingdale Regional Library is hosting its eighth annual Design-a-Bookmark Contest.

Children in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to design a bookmark to be used by the library throughout the year. Templates are available at the library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico.

Young artists should use crayon, colored pencil, markers or paints to create an original bookmark related to books, libraries or reading.

Entries are limited to one per child and all entries must be submitted to the Circulation Desk by closing Wednesday, Feb. 29.

One winner will be chosen from each grade, kindergarten through eight and one winner will be chosen for grades 9 to 12 combines. Letters notifying the winners will be mailed March 5 and a list of winners will be posted in the library March 7.

The winning entries will be printed on a full-color bookmark to be distributed in the library.

Winners also will be recognized at a celebration March 19 at 7 p.m. at the library.
