Craft Beer and Wine Bar Opening Near Buffalo Wild Wings

The success of the recent Tampa Bay Beer Week makes it clear that our area is passionate about brews.  However, in the Bloomingdale area, the new Stein and Vine on Bloomingdale Avenue is one of the only choices for craft beer and fine wine by the glass. Unless you’re up for driving North to Lumsden Avenue in Brandon to hit up Mellow Mushroom or The Brass Tap, that's about where the options stop.

Matt Brooks is hoping that he can capitalize on the area’s desire for more craft beer and wine closer to home. In the next few weeks, Brooks hopes to open the doors to The Talking Pint, 3428 Boyette Rd., in Riverveiw, in the area behind Buffalo Wild Wings on the corner of Boyette Road and Bell Shoals Road. They will feature craft beer and wines by the glass as well as some light sandwiches and flatbreads.

Brooks describes The Talking Pint as a beer and wine pub with the theme of a Bohemian coffee house. The feel is becoming evident by the thick billowing curtains and the A Christmas Story-inspired leg lamp in the front windows.

People can come in and have a drink, or some coffee and “play a game or read a book,” Brooks says.

Brooks is still setting the opening date for The Talking Pint but hopes to be welcoming guests within the next few weeks. The pub will open at 2 p.m. Brooks says the doors will stay open until the early morning hours, but he hasn’t set a firm closing time yet.
