Will FishHawk or Bloomingdale Win the Annual Neighborhood Recognition Award?

Hillsborough County seeks nominees for the annual Neighborhood Recognition Award.

From Hillsborough County Government Online:

Hillsborough County is looking to recognize communities that have completed a beautification project, developed an informational neighborhood website or social media site, or started a crime watch or other safety program.

These are just a few of the eight award categories available for the 2012 Neighborhood Recognition Awards from the Hillsborough County Office of Neighborhood Relations.

The County is accepting nominations for the awards through Monday, March 5, at 5 p.m.

Neighborhood Recognition Awards applications are available in the Office of Neighborhood Relations, County Center, 601 East Kennedy Blvd., 1st Floor downtown, or by going to the Hillsborough County Neighborhood Relations Web page at www.hillsboroughcounty.org/onr and clicking on Neighborhood Recognition Awards.

The Neighborhood Recognition Awards are designed to acknowledge neighborhood organizations that have been active in civic affairs and worked collectively to improve and enrich their communities and the lives of their residents. Nominations are accepted in each of the following categories for events that occurred in 2012:

  • Best Association Website
  • Best Beautification Project
  • Best Crime Watch or Safety Program
  • Best Environmental Project
  • Best Newsletter
  • Best Umbrella Association
  • Most Successful Special Event
  • Most Successful Youth Program

Applicants or nominees must be a neighborhood, homeowner or civic association, or a crime watch group within Hillsborough County, City of Plant City, City of Tampa or City of Temple Terrace to be eligible.

The winners will be announced March 24 at the Ninth Annual Hillsborough County Neighborhoods Conference during the Awards Luncheon.
