To start, those wishing to participate should register on the website. Then, they will be able to leave their thoughts, view all the ideas and comments made by others, give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down on each comment, and engage in a dialogue about the topics most important to them.

Up for discussion are subjects such as jobs, livability and health, to name a few. Ideas will change along with viewpoints as the county moves through the open forum rating period ending Friday, Sept. 14. So, everyone is encouraged to visit often to see the latest strategic plan brainstorming ideas and vote.

After the brainstorming session comes to a close, residents' ideas, votes and comments will become part of the input used by county commissioners to set a course for the future of Hillsborough County. The board has a strategic planning retreat scheduled the first week of December.
