Supervisor of Elections Office Opens in Riverview

The new office is located at 10439 Gibsonton Drive.

Trying to avoid a repeat of long lines at polling places, county elections officials opened a new satellite elections office in Riverview Oct. 11.

The Supervisor of Elections South Shore Office is located at 10439 Gibsonton Drive in Riverview (in the Lowe's shopping center on the corner of U.S. 301 and Gibsonton Drive).

According to Craig Latimer, chief of staff for the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, the satellite office will help support the early voting sites and take pressure off heavily used voting venues such as the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico.

At the new office, residents may register to vote, request a vote-by-mail ballot, and update information like party affiliation, name and address. This site also will serve as a drop-off point for these ballots.

An open house for the new Riverview satellite office took place Oct. 11 with members of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce in attendance.

At the open house, local businesses were introduced to the Adopt A Precinct program.

The Adopt A Precinct program is an initiative of the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office that forges an alliance with businesses, community service organizations, agencies and other entities to address the continual need for dedicated, committed, customer service-oriented poll workers.

The new office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
