Storms, Lee in Lead with Half of the Precincts Reporting

As of 8 p.m., 178 of the 347 voting precincts had reported.

An hour after polls closed, preliminary voting results show former Senate President Tom Lee, R-Brandon, in the lead for the District 24 Senate race and state Sen. Ronda Storms, R-Valrico, beating incumbent Rob Turner in the property appraiser's race.

Lee is showing 59.49 percent of the vote to state Rep. Rachel Burgin's 40.51 percent.

Meanwhile, Stomrs has garnered 70.05 percent of the vote for property appraiser.

In other races, Victor Crist is in the lead for County Commission District 2, Ross Spano, R-Riverview, has a small lead in the House District 59 race and Jake Raburn, R-Plant City, has a substantial lead in the House District 57 race.
