Riverview Professor Hopes Students Learn From Obama Rally

The 36-year-old Riverview man teaches at Florida Career College. He attended President Barack Obama's Tampa rally.

As a professor at Florida Career College Foster Scot sees a lot of apathy among his students about voting and the political process.

"They're kind of nonchalant about it," said Scott, who lives in Riverview. "Most of them are unemployed in school."

Scot, 36, said he wanted to attend Thursday's rally so he could take back what he heard to his students.

He may also need some convincing himself. He said he was disenchanted with how the middle class is taxed.

"Some of the things Romney stands for are good. But the fact he made $12 million and only paid 14 percent in taxes and someone who makes $50,000 has to pay 30 percent; I have a problem with that," Scot said.
