National Crime Victims' Rights Week Is April 22-28

A proclamation ceremony and resource fair will be held in recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week in downtown on Monday, April 23.

A proclamation ceremony and resource fair will be held in recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week at the Joe Chillura Courthouse Square Park in downtown across the street from the County Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 23. In case of rain, the event will be held on the 26th floor of the County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd.

The theme of this year's observance is "extending the vision, reaching every victim."

The Proclamation Ceremony will be held from 10-10:30 a.m. with guest speakers including Mark Ober, Hillsborough County State Attorney; Pam Bondi, Florida Attorney General; Ken Hagan, Hillsborough County Commissioner; Cindy Roberts, wife of slain Tampa Police Department Corporal Michael Roberts; and Audrey Mabry, survivor of domestic violence.

The Resource Fair will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with representatives from the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Victim Assistance Program, Thirteenth Judicial Circuit; Paws for Justice; Office of the Attorney General; The Spring of Tampa Bay; The Family Justice Center; ; Children's Advocacy Center; Guardian ad Litem 13th Judicial Circuit; MADD Hillsborough County and more.
