MacDill Commander to Speak at South Brandon Rotary Club

Col. Lenny J. Richoux, commander, 6th Air Mobility Wing, MacDill Air Force Base, will be the guest speaker at the May 18 meeting.

Col. Lenny J. Richoux, commander of the 6th Air Mobility Wing at MacDill Air Force Base, will be the guest speaker at the South Brandon Rotary Club meeting May 18 at noon at Buckhorn Springs Country Club off Miller Road.

The wing's overall mission is to provide worldwide air refueling and combatant commander airlift in support of the Air Force's Global Reach, Global Power mission and to provide support to Headquarters U.S. Central Command,
Headquarters U.S. Special Operations Command and 51 other mission partners that call MacDill home.

As the commander, Richoux is responsible for more than $2.8 billion in base property and capital assets, and controls an annual budget exceeding $249
million. MacDill AFB represents a major economic influence within the Tampa Bay community, with a total economic impact of more than $5 billion annually.

Richoux is a native of New Orleans, is a graduate of the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts and a distinguished graduate of Georgia Tech’s AFROTC program. He has accumulated more than 3,100 flying hours as a KC-
135 instructor pilot and C-17 airdrop evaluator pilot, executing 90 combat and 27 combat support missions in support of a variety of operations. Richoux has commanded at the squadron level and has served as a vice wing commander. He is a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and a graduate of the National Defense Fellows, as a published author. The colonel has served on both the Air Staff and Joint Staff.

Prior to his current position,Richoux served as chief, Strategy and Plans, Directorate of Communication, Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is married to the former Michele Kendrick of Fort Mill, S.C. They have two daughters, Claudia and Lena, and a son, Emile.
