Lane Closures On Bloomingdale Avenue, Providence Road

Construction barriers are up on Bloomingdale Avenue and Providence Road, with work under way "to better facilitate traffic flow and improve safety."

Back from the Fourth of July weekend, motorists are finding lane closures on Bloomingdale Avenue for their morning and afternoon commutes and for the hours in between.

Signs alerting motorists have been posted and flashing along Bloomingdale Avenue and Providence Road for days, alerting drivers to the upcoming construction, now under way.

According to the signs, lane closures were to be expected Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Monday, July 8, approaching and at the Winthrop development. The signs were posted on Bloomingdale Avenue and Providence Road.

According to Hillsborough County government online, the project is "to alter existing medians on Bloomingdale Avenue on the east and west side of the Providence Road intersection to better facilitate traffic flow and improve safety."
